Consumer reviews are often one of the first things someone checks when deciding upon a service or product. Directory sites (such as Yelp and Angie’s List) have made this very easy for both businesses and consumers. Although the search engines will not be evaluating your reviews, the people who will be potentially clicking on your site will. Companies with high reviews will be clicked on first and a company with no reviews or poor reviews will often be overlooked.
This easiest way to get more reviews is to simply ask for them. Contact a few of your most recent clients/customers. Let them know you really appreciate their business and direct them to a site they can leave a review on. This can be done through social media, in an email or in person.
